The work involved disconnecting all equipment to the, and to the south of the crossing whilst the new troughing was laid. This steel construction replaced the previous wooden one and the well wore wooden road boards. Following the "berthing of the submarine" (so called because of its shape and access hatches) contractors working for Bury MBC set about the resurfacing of Bridge Street including the crossing. Also included for comparison in this collection is a shot of the crossing taken in 2003. Jim M still wants a photo of 87012 on this working; maybe next week? - Winwick Junction 08/08/05 - Another Monday night special can be this one; 90043 leads home 86610 and 86627 to Crewe from Mossend on 4M74 - Winwick Junction 08/08/05 - It's a double duff for Chelsea supporters on board this footex to Wigan for the first game of the season; 47853 leads the way... ...with 47812 bringing up the rear - Wigan 14/08/05 - The second weekend in August saw rerailing work take place on the Northern Line in the Ormskirk area. Day 2 and time to go solo; 20901 recently restarted following a long period of store with DRS at Carlisle working the 10:00 ex Heywood service - Irwell Vale 03/07/05 - From Kosovo to Rawtenstall.
